I bought black ones and they came in the original box. They were sold (especially through Apple) in white, but many places sold black as well, so they were real and not fake. They work as advertised and sound good like headphones. They come with a small cloth pouch for storage and a set of headphones in different sizes. I've been experimenting with 3D audio and it works very well, especially for closer sound sources. They're fun to use and as long as you understand the limitations you can create some cool tracks. Sounds don't magically get louder much farther away, so they're not magical ears :). All the features work, although the noise-cancellation didn't impress me as it doesn't really block out outside noise like it does when the earcups are closed. Also note that since Apogee applications have been discontinued by the manufacturer, they may become unsupported over time. I'm using iOS 14.1 and everything works fine, although sometimes you have to restart the app when using other audio recording apps and forget the connect and start sequence or have to close other apps in the background. They work with FilmicPro and various other video and audio applications. Not all rocker functions can be controlled in other apps, so you need to tweak some settings in the native app first to save your settings. Basically, check your configuration by starting with AMBEO, then enabling other desired apps and selecting AMBEO like any other detected microphone. Also, I didn't find the app to be as intuitive as others. It follows the "takes" structure and you need to become familiar with it in order to remember your takes. These headphones make an excellent input for other recording devices and video applications (provided they recognize connected stereo microphones). OPTIONAL: If you use audio recovery tools like iZotope you may need to tweak your workflow as the type of separation they create may not be accounted for in some of their machine learning algorithms, but I haven't had to remove a passing car or other moving noise, like that YMMV. Also note that you can also move around some audio sources as the center point of the recording. Overall I think it's a good deal, especially with the current discounts, and fun to record with. You'll probably appreciate noise pollution in our modern world in a whole new way once you start recording things to hear in 3D.
