I have postponed this review until a replacement has been sent to me. The original Tilta cage I received got stuck on my camera (Blackmagic Pocket 4K) and I had to pry off the mounting plate with a screwdriver, which scratched the cage. This appears to have been a manufacturing defect as the posts on the mounting plate were slightly offset and uncomfortably tight against the camera and would snag when used with the cage. The replacement cage I received fitted perfectly. That issue aside, the construction, while lightweight, feels a bit dull. As I mentioned, removing the stuck bottom panel with a screwdriver scratched the finish. I should mention that I tried a butter knife before a screwdriver and it also scratched the surface. (No butter knife or screwdriver was injured in this incident.) This makes me question the future of the facility. How well do the screw holes hold up over time? Will they wear out if I have to reposition the components? I bought an SSD holder along with the frame and there are surprisingly few ways to conveniently mount it to the rig. It's designed to be mounted on top of a sun visor and I would probably recommend it as the best option. All ports are freely accessible, as are most buttons, but while some are uncovered, they are less visible and convenient to use. Specifically, the ISO, Shutter, and White Balance buttons on the top of the camera. Basically I am satisfied with the cage. It wasn't my intention, but anyone who owns or is about to own a Blackmagic Pocket 4K will quickly find that this is an annoying necessity. However, I would sacrifice light weight for a stronger metal (my butter knife is at least 20 years old, bought a set for $30 and hasn't taken a single scratch), especially given the price of the knife. I have to buy the cage itself and all future details later.
