***Updated rating. I bought these towels despite mixed reviews and photos of damaged towels. One reason is the low price of $21.99 for a set of 6 towels, and the other is the slightly oversized bath towels measuring 30" x 56" (standard size 27" x 54"). Also, I've read reviews that the plum is a little lighter than pictured, which is what I was hoping for. I felt they were worth it as I noticed that the reviewers who commented on the plum color didn't have many negative reviews. They arrived quickly and my husband and I both agreed they look thick and beautiful. I can't say anything about the quality in terms of durability, but I'll update this review after a few months of use and numerous washes. I am very careful about how I wash clothes and such, so my insights only apply to others doing the same. I don't wash towels with jeans or other things with zippers or anything else that might get caught on them (or cause the towels to wear out). I use dark Perwoll detergent, which is great for preserving and restoring dark colors (it's expensive here at Revain, but it's a bit cheap and worth it) and I don't use detergents with regular fillers that get on clothes accumulate. DET. 1.5L Finally, I use balls of wool to dry and don't use fabric softener (which shouldn't be used on towels in particular as it leaves a film on them and makes them less absorbent). Smart Sheep 6-Pack XL Premium 100% Wool Drying Balls (Reusable, Top Rated Natural Fabric Softener, Great Gift) I've uploaded some photos so you can see the plum. For comparison, I've placed a pair of purple cardigans side by side, which look more like real purple or plum. It's a slightly smoky plum (more plum than gray, a bit more muted). Very chic, especially for less than $22, and much prettier than expected! Definitely recommended, at least for exposed towels that are little used. No flaws or bad looks on arrival - from the Pinzon seller to Revain to Plum. Enjoy shopping! To smile. *UPDATE* After the first wash, the dryer lint is no more than any other new towel set I've bought. Fluffies do not stick to wet skin and do not shed. Color and appearance are like new. If something changes, there will be more. After a month of use, multiple washes and dryers, we are very happy with this set! We will be ordering another set while we can (note the individual pieces of plum are no longer available and the HUGE plum bath rug is gone now too - very chic!).
