Worked with upholstery!
I was converting an old coffee table into a tufted stool and wanted to cover the knobs with the same upholstery fabric. I was concerned as many reviews said it wouldn't work with upholstery fabrics, only thinner materials. However, I didn't find anything else and decided to give it a try. To attach the back, use a screwdriver and push in from all sides. This trick worked great. The backs of the buttons looked like they were stuffed but you don't see that on the last ottoman so I didn't care. That looks great!
