I liked the smoothness of panning, the handle is not very comfortable as it is not long enough, if you want to add a handle you really need to extend it further . I was a bit worried that there would be a tiny wobble on the head itself after screwing in the tripod. it must be solid. Not sure if it's a defect or not, but if you're going to put expensive equipment on it you'll want it to stay solid. I have a 150-600 lens and it handles the weight well, but I wouldn't use anything heavier. I think 17 kilos is too much. My gear is more like a 14. If I didn't have that little wobble my rating would be higher.
