Overall it does the job of protecting the carpet, it meets my expectations and I am happy with the purchase Packaging: This lightweight doormat has been folded in four. The wrinkles are slightly gone within a few days. It arrived in a plain bag and didn't seem any worse for travel. Arrived quickly Height and weight: The mat has a low profile, so the door can be opened above it. We use it indoors on carpet and it slips a bit. I would be worried about it being blown away by strong winds so I won't be using it outdoors. Size: I not only saw it next to the door but also took a picture of it with US standard printer paper 8.5 x 11 for size reference. Some photoshopped stock images make it appear much larger, and while it's fine to stand in front of a door, it's not big enough for a small child and dog to play on. Texture: The mat itself is surprisingly soft, yet still absorbs water well on wet shoes. The underside of the mat is made of soft plastic, so it slips a little on the carpet. If it was more rubbery or on a rough textured surface it would probably stay in place better. The textured black portion around the words is raised over the words to keep the letters from rubbing off when you move them.
