This fan works well for me in two ways: as a desktop fan if I mount it on a 1.5" "edge" near the corner of my desk/desk attach, though well seated, to a desk or table; and as an exercise fan where it sits on the horizontal bar of the stair climber I use. I know it's durable because I tried several times to attach it to the wrong part of the stair climber and it came loose after a minute or two and dropped about 7 feet onto the carpet with no ill effects. It runs for hours a day - I didn't do an endurance test because it's easy to charge overnight. Airflow can be easily directed with a combination of pan and tilt. The only problem I have is that it makes a high noise level. It's not loud, but I find it annoying after a while when using it at my desk. But if, like me, you wear hearing aids and can turn off their microphones - problem solved :) As I suspect I'm overly sensitive to this noise, I'm not deducting a star for that.
