This is the LED bulb you want

Oh yes! That's the right light! Most other "architectural lamps" have exposed springs and screws that will fatigue and fall off over time, or can barely support the meager weight of the socket if designed to hold a traditional screw-in lamp. Many lamps with built-in LEDs are simply not bright enough. This lamp is big, clean and durable. And the lamp head is bright! You'll feel your pupils contract and get sharp images to bring out the details. When LEDs first came out, they tended to be 2700K, which is not "intrinsic". It's a yellow candle! I've read that yellow lights were "preferred" in the west (but not by me), while eastern countries preferred cooler, "bluer" lights. Manufacturers were finally starting to offer variety, but they tended to be extreme - 2700K or 6500K (too blue) with nothing in between. The market has now reached maturity. According to the manufacturer, this device provides good "daylight" in the 5600-6000K range. As such, it's bright but not "blue" and works well next to computer screens. A gradient dimmer would be nice (like the external control I currently have on a screw type LED lamp), but I can accept step control on this lamp. The first press turns the lamp on at full brightness, subsequent presses decrease the brightness and then turn it off. I like this lamp and quality so much that I can order another one for the second work area.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Too stupid
