Review on 📡 Outdoor FM Loop Antenna: Ideal for Attic, Mounting, and RV Use by Jared Poinson

This replaced my 300 ohm 2 wire antenna (internal) that was fitted to my Pioneer TX-9500 receiver. After unpacking, I doubted the quality of assembly. The assembly is very easy, however the parts are very light which makes them a bit cheap. It's probably for the best that they're as light as possible so you put less stress on what you're using to mount the antenna. I installed this in the attic using an adjustable Jansky antenna mount (not the best, but it's bolted to my house now) and 100 feet of Logico RG6 coax (seems legit) with a 75 ohm to 300 Ohm coax RCA adapter (schematic) But it works). I installed it at the highest point on my roof, about the same level as the houses closest to me. After running all the cables, installing everything and drilling holes in my wall, I was amazed at the increase in signal strength and the addition of more channels. Much more value than I ever expected. Since it was omnidirectional I only saw gain, not a single channel was lost. I recorded all the channels before and after along with their strengths. My TX-9500 has a signal strength indicator, unfortunately for the nerds among us, it doesn't have units, it's just 0-5, I'm assuming it's a linear representation of signal strength. Here are the before and after dates in the attached photo. The test was done accurately, I collected data from the old antenna, then swapped it out and repeated the scan. As you can see, it made a HUGE difference. My MPX noise filter was on and mute set to 1. All channels displayed were very clear, meaning vocals are smooth and audible with no interference. This is mainly due to the filters in the tuner, although I haven't had the periodic switching off of channels like with my old antenna. I hope this product works as well for me as it does for others. I live in Southern California so the skies are very clear and the landscape is an open valley surrounded by mountains. I am very satisfied and will definitely buy again/recommend to friends.
