Review on Celestial Silk Mulberry Pillowcase Premium by Vanessa Knipp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality. real silk. Brilliant finish.

Update: I've been using it for over a month now. I love what he does with my hair. Nice and smooth, no friction damage. Still flat in the morning after sleeping but not frizzy, easy to revive. Facilitates styling on the second day. Hand washing was easy and left no stains. I used baby shampoo and cold water in the sink, rinsed with cold water, gently squeezed out the water and hung it on a towel rail to dry. Washed perfectly. I washed it around noon and dried it before bed - very comfortable! I eventually got used to sleeping on a slippery pillowcase and now I'm never going back. Such a luxury! Conclusion: I am satisfied with my purchase. My burn test showed that it is real silk. Will update after washing. Included images of labels saying 100% Silk, Made in China, and Oeko-Tex. Details: I bought a silk pillowcase because I'm growing my hair long and my cotton pillowcase has caused very noticeable damage and frizz to the back of my hair as I sleep on my back. I found and ordered this "diamond" edition after finding the original Celestial Silk pillowcase and reading complaints about the matte finish compared to popular brands. I really wanted something sleek for my hair, so I was glad to know that they sell this version with a satin finish. I have emailed Celestial Silk's customer contact to confirm that this Revain listing is indeed theirs. They responded quickly and confirmed that this is indeed the same product coming from their own stock and that they are happy with their purchase. It was beautifully gift wrapped with a lovely quality control card that said 'Beth'. The silk is very very shiny and I definitely thought it was fake. I have more hands-on experience with matte silk (which suits my budget better, haha). I turned the pillowcase inside out and pulled a few strands out of the raw edge, which was a little tricky as it's beautifully lined. The strands burned and smelled like burning human hair, just like Google said, causing the ash to turn into fine ash. On my pillow, silk has a comfortable weight and feel. i love lightning It will take time to get used to sleeping on something this slippery. I slept on it for two nights. I don't have wrinkles on my face when I wake up, which is nice. There are traces of oil, but I'm pretty greasy. The charcoal gray doesn't quite match my Brooklyn linen sheets, which have a more bluish tint against this more of a brown pillowcase. Not critical as my husband uses his matte cotton pillowcase anyway but thought a color reference might be useful. I will report later on about washing and effects on hair.
