Review on Ovation Women’s Protege Matte Riding Helmet: Safety, Style, and Performance Combined by Gary Stringfield

Please consider buying a safer helmet

My advice: buy a helmet that is made in Europe and is safety approved. This was made in Taiwan. My parents didn't know any better when I was a kid and they didn't know that the helmet has to be changed every time you fall. I've had multiple concussions, all but one from the helmet, and I'm suffering from the effects as an adult. I no longer compete and need a cheap air helmet to easily ride a horse I have owned for 18 years to keep me ok. If you are not sure about falling or if you are buying a helmet for a child, buy a safer one. In terms of convenience, you get what you pay for. It's not very comfortable, but it can be worn for a short time. I pulled out a cheap plastic dial and it made it better.
