These sockets with wires are perfect to add extra ports to your car. I soldered these to the wires going to the original connector but you could easily connect to the aux or constant 12v power. You could also connect one of these to only turn on when the lights are on, which would work if you have LED lighting in your car that's powered from a cigarette lighter power supply.I'm giving these 4 stars because they work well and are a good deal but I want to note that the quality isn't great, especially the strain relief on the wires. I used cable ties to secure them so they weren't flopping around under my dash, I don't think they would last long if I let them loose. So if you are careful with these, 4 stars. If not, I'd expect these to fail in a year or less, and that isn't fun if you have a dash cam, radar detector or something else that's important plugged in when it fails. Great product overall, I hate having my plug always used up by something I keep in my car like a dash camera. This makes it easy to add those things easily, and they can be removed or replaced quickly since you aren't hard wiring the device power connectors to your car.
