I bought these shoes hoping they could replace a pair of Timberlands that I recently had to get rid of. Timberland were my favorite boat shoes I've ever owned and they seem to be out of production. So I've tried almost every brand (I'm not kidding - at least 10 pairs). I saw them and thought the look seemed close so I decided to give it a try. They're not as well built, but they're also a lot cheaper. They look nice, but the leather is surprisingly stiff and doesn't stretch like most boots. The outsole isn't as soft as the Sperry, but should last a bit longer. I wore them to work all week and they hardly wore at all. I'm not sure I would wear them barefoot as they aren't really leather lined (most of them are no longer worn - which is also a shame as leather lined pumps are clearly better in almost every way). Now it shows that this shoe has a lot of potential. Once I can mine them more I think they will work fine. For $40 I totally agree with them.
