These shoes are not worth your time and money. I've run Kayano 17 - Kayano 21 and have bought at least 2 pairs each over the years. This version is really bad - it just doesn't compare to previous experiences. The company tried to make lighter, cheaper shoes with fewer components and ended up delivering junk. When they resume production of the Kayano 18 I will buy a few pairs. But if that's the best they can do, they probably won't survive and you should look elsewhere for serious footwear. Kayano has been redesigned as it is outdated. Asics should be ashamed.
