These cables are not only defective. They are dangerous. The replacement cables I received work fine (so far), but when I plugged one of these into my VR headset, it melted my angled USB-C adapter in seconds. Thank god I wasn't wearing it at the time, and the electronics were destroyed for just a few dollars instead of hundreds. What if I used one of these ride-along cables and severely damaged the cables of one of my customers' mobile devices or even caused a fire? What if I had an accident? This is not a product review. This is a security warning. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY (unless you have the time, money, and patience to sue those bastards before bankruptcy; this definitely feels like the year of the rainmaker).
