Beware of replacement brush heads

I don't know what the patents are for these brushes but be aware that brush heads are not interchangeable with the original branded version and not necessarily with other generics. I'm just pointing this out because replacement heads are always expensive and they can even go out of business if a particular toothbrush doesn't work. I'll tell you right now, I really don't like that this one should be stuck in the ground with a barrel. charging socket. That means laying the brush on its side, and that's not exactly ideal. Most have a small charging station that is usually charged via induction - I prefer those that connect via USB, while some connect via NEMA 5-15P. But it's pretty cheap, that might be one of the main reasons. Maybe the battery is smaller too, but that's hard to say as they generally all last a long time without recharging. I also find the thing with several cleaning modes really unappealing, which only makes it more difficult to shut down the device. But honestly, it seems like everyone has them. All in all, this is a great toothbrush. I'm just not sure about the durability due to the interchangeable heads. I will say that the Oral-B style - which is not a "Sonic" style - comes in all different formats and it seems like every brand makes interchangeable heads that fit perfectly. I've never understood why nobody copies Sonicare brush heads for these types of brushes (I think they just managed to effectively patent them).

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
