I have been using the same garland for close to 20 years. Last Christmas, I realized it was almost time to say goodbye because it was wearing out.I am quite happy with this garland. It shed a little bit when I pulled them out of the box and straightened them out. It's a pretty standard thickness (this is the "normal" sized one, not the tiny thin strands, not the glorious thick, voluminous one.) Once I dig up all of my Christmas decor, I plan on attaching the strands together and making one long garland by wrapping some spare ornament hooks around the ends. These are a bit too flimsy to just tie and trim the ends.I really love the thick and thin strands of tinsel mixed together. It helps it really sparkle in the light and just adds more visual "oomph".
