Review on πŸ”† Certified Pack of JJC Recessed Lighting Downlight by Robert Xayamonty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple, functional and cheap!

Pros: bright, easy to ceiling mount, easy to connect, strong springs, all mounting hardware included, works with dimmers and best of all: cheap! Disadvantages: 1. The wire in the junction box is aluminum (photo #7). This isn't really a problem as the bulbs are LED and low voltage, but copper is always better. I think aluminum is a must at this price point.2. Also very light, but the gasket is very thin (photo #4). I don't install these lights in the bathroom so I remove the gasket entirely, but if I did I would just buy a separate, thicker gasket. I actually prefer this configuration as I don't have to pay extra for pads that I won't be using anyway. And finally: it's not really a minus, but make sure you're happy with 5000k brightness, or at least have dimmers in your walls. If you like yellowish lights, this won't work. But if you're like me and love white light, they work great. First impressions are good and I will definitely update them over time. They have a 5 year guarantee so I don't care.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: No housing required, supplied with junction box. Requires only a 6.2" ceiling opening and 2" ceiling space for installation, simple retrofit or new construction. Easy to assemble and ready in seconds: cut a hole in the ceiling to size, then fold the spring-loaded brackets into the hole.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
