Review on Go Berkey Kit: Compact Water Filter (1 qt.) with Black Berkey Primer & Sport Bottle (22 oz.) by Junior Andreano

Not the best choice for a road filter

For decades I have lived in an environment where water filtration is essential. As a result, I've experimented with many different filters and purifiers over the years. A few years ago I bought black Berkey filters and installed them in a gravity filter made in India. I couldn't be happier with the results. I bought the Go filter thinking it would be perfect for travel. It's not like this. The filter only produces 24-25 ounces at a time and that takes a long time. I think it may be because there is less pressure in the small upper chamber. The device is somewhat impractical due to the lack of a tube. Before taking it on the plane, the black filter must be completely emptied and dried; and even then there is a risk of TSA confiscation if it is in carry-on luggage. I'm not surprised to see that the Berkey website no longer promotes them. After adding a holdall I would never need and a bottle filter, the cost approached the next size up, the Berkey Travel. I would recommend spending the extra money on a faucet/faucet and buying a Lifestraw travel bottle.
