I've had such items before that were barely functional so I had low expectations for this product. I was desperate to find a better storage solution for my shoes. I thought I'd try this item and very pleased. There are cheaper models out there but let me tell you why I like THIS product. First of all, if you ever have anything hanging over the door it is a hit or miss if the door will close. The door closes. Hooray! Drapes nicely down the back of the door and doesn't hang funny. I attribute that to the velcro. One large piece included which I cut in half and attached to the lower corners of each side. watch your spacing if you have a paneled door like me. I got lucky because I wasn't paying attention but the velcro lined up fine. Now even empty it drapes snug and doesn't buckle or shift. The hooks that are over the door may shift with opening and closing the door so the velcro helps alot. The mesh is another thing that sets this apart from others because you can clearly see the shoes. The stitching is fine and doesn't appear will unravel at all. It is light enough material that it isn't weighing down on the door. The shoes have weight too so you don't want the door to be too heavy to open and close. I would imagine most people put this inside the closet but I have it hanging inside the door to my room so I can see the shoes. My issue before was that when the shoes were in the closet I could never remember what I had and didn't have any longer. Out of sight, out of mind. Now I can look at my shoes and admire them. I love my shoes and I love that they aren't taking up space on the floor of the closet. This is functional but also rather elegant. I have a white door as you can see in the photos so the white backing works well for me. Good value and expect it will last a long time. Four stars rather than five because I happen to have the perfect size foot and shoe but I think this item would not work for very large feet and heavier shoes or even too many sneakers. You will notice I only have one pair of sneakers in the photo. I thought the sneakers had a tight fit getting in the compartment. My dress shoes and sandals fit perfectly and look fantastic so still a great find. Would recommend.
