Review on πŸ”Š Dayton Audio DTA-2.1BT2: 100W Class D Bluetooth Amplifier with Sub Frequency Adjustment for Enhanced Audio Experience by Delbert Potter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small package, big performance

Dayton Audio dta2.1bt very powerful, very compact device. I currently have two Onkyo bookshelf speakers and a 200w Onkyo passive subwoofer connected to them. I wasn't expecting much from the 100 watt subwoofer channel on this amp, but I was really shocked by how loud he could turn the subwoofer on and how clear the sound was even with the volume control turned all the way up. The crossover frequency control is also very good. I set it to around 80Hz because bookshelf speakers have very good midrange response, but increasing the crossover frequency to 120Hz allows for higher mids and punchier bass when people are using smaller satellite speakers. In the 60-80Hz range I like my crossovers and they work very well with notes at that frequency and even below. The speakers are rated higher than this Dayton can push and that aside I don't hear any distortion even at full volume on very demanding tracks. A stunning machine with a simple user interface and Bluetooth connectivity, the tone controls bring out the high frequencies without being overly harsh. A very good device, I like its all-metal frame and I can say that it helps dissipate heat (although it didn't get even remotely warm after 30 minutes at full volume).
