Works great with lighters

I wanted to improve my smoking experience with cheap lighters. I had my eye on the Douglas Field Lighter but wasn't sure I wanted to spend that kind of money. I chose the Dewel because it looks similar, is highly visible, and is slightly cheaper. This thing works as expected and is very easy to fuel and use. I've been putting more emphasis on my EDC items lately and that goes well with my preferences. The only downside is that the finish on this one isn't that great. But for the money it's…

DINNER FANTASTIC. TEN stars if I could.

WOW! I am a smoker and use a Zippo lighter daily. NO MORE, this lighter is better than my zippo. Easier to fill Great adjustable windbreak, it's heavy (not too heavy) but just enough to keep you from constantly checking to see if it's in your bag. Supplied in a drawstring pouch in a very nice wooden box. It also comes with 4 flints installed and 3 more in the box, along with 3 spare o-rings as well as a flint wheel cleaning tool. Another nice thing is that you can store extra flint in the…

Robust little lighter

Cool little lighter, GOOD workmanship, the springs don't fly with me (like another reviewer). A bit difficult to use as a lighter, coordination is required :) For example, it is better to be quick so that the metal body does not feel too hot. However, it's easy enough to manage once you get the hang of it. If you smoke a pipe that constantly stomps and reignites this may not be for you as the flame will need to be sucked into the pipe or the body will get hot, again controlled but more…

Guaranteed and quality!

Loved it until the spring holding the lid broke. It was past the return date so I left the old one for parts and bought another one. 1 more try but I won't buy another one if it's a beak. I have many Zippo lighters, they come with a lifetime warranty. Zippo stands behind this guarantee. I've used it a few times and it's no fuss no fuss! Needs updating, same part broke again. I emailed CZBus asking if I could purchase additional parts. never heard a word for an answer. If you want to use this…

Looks big, solid, well made.

I basically bought this lighter by accident. I collect vintage lighters and this one seemed like a replica that I could carry around and not be upset if I lost or broke it. I've only been using it for a few days, but so far I like it. Packed in a beautiful wooden box and cloth bag. I was pleasantly surprised that it comes with spare parts. I've used it a lot over the past few days so we'll see how long the fuel lasts. Well made and appears to be durable. The only reason for 4 stars is because…

There is no better way than to buy two Bic lighters.

image nothing availability absolutely everything. First, be prepared to have plenty of liquid cans on hand. I used a can of lighter fluid, which ideally would last a Zippo user a month or more, less than two weeks before the lighter broke completely. Of course, after returning, the window ended. This is a very stylish lighter and I plan to look for more durable trench lighters and start collecting. It is sad that a company that prides itself on their craftsmanship sells a product that breaks…

Great value for money reliable lighter

Excellent little lighter. The wick cap protects the wick and prevents the fuel from evaporating. And it's spring loaded, so you get a very positive, steady spark every time you open it. In comparison, I've invested in a Douglass Field-S lighter (which costs many times more than this lighter) and it usually takes 2-3 openings of the wick cap to get enough spark to ignite the fuel. I'm sending back the Douglass Field-S - it's nicely built but the lighter should ignite! to the side, and the flame…

I bought an IMCO reproduction here and it's not the quality they are known for - unfortunately it broke after a month . I've waited to review this lighter until I can honestly assess its quality and durability and it really is great engineering - the spark mechanism is really reliable and it ignites on the first hit every time! I really like it and might buy another one if this one ever wears out. Edit I bought 2 of these and after a few months the spring powering them breaks rendering them…

I usually never check, though.

This lighter is fantastic. First, let me start by saying that I NEVER look at anything; I always get emails that say "oh please let us know what you think of our service". BS, and I never review it because I'm even less inclined to review it, but this lighter really is something; makes me reconsider this point. First of all I would like to state that this lighter was supposed to arrive from January 17th to early February, but actually arrived on the 14th, so thanks in advance for the earlier…

One of the best lighters

I have quite an extensive collection of lighters (Zippos, IMCO, Corona Old Boy etc) and this little lighter is a solid weight and like IMCO easy to fill and has a good wick cap to to reduce fuel evaporation. What sets this lighter apart is the well-made flintlock mechanism. If you look closely at the side of the flint wheel you will see that there is a notch with a thin metal cam on one side. This graduated lock together with the weighted thumb pressure on the firing pin provides a very smooth…
