Review on Vintage Copper Wheel Kerosene Lighter - Windproof Brass Trench Lighter for Collection, Decor, Gift by Doug Booth

Great value for money reliable lighter

Excellent little lighter. The wick cap protects the wick and prevents the fuel from evaporating. And it's spring loaded, so you get a very positive, steady spark every time you open it. In comparison, I've invested in a Douglass Field-S lighter (which costs many times more than this lighter) and it usually takes 2-3 openings of the wick cap to get enough spark to ignite the fuel. I'm sending back the Douglass Field-S - it's nicely built but the lighter should ignite! to the side, and the flame gives even more light). Outdoors works well in windy conditions. Not as good as the Zippo, but few liquid fuel lighters handle the breeze as well as the Zippo. The only downside to this lighter (or upside, depending on your point of view) is that it's quite small. Convenient to carry in your jeans pocket, but doesn't hold much fuel. This isn't really a problem, but if you're hiking for a week you might want to take a jerry can of liquid with you. Basically I am very satisfied with the lighter.
