The optional cable supplied with Brookstone Cat Ears connects the audio input of the headphone microphone and the audio output of the computer to the headset speakers. With this extra cable, I was only able to listen into my headset and not speak, so it doesn't do the job it was supposed to do. I didn't send it back because it wasn't worth the hassle and I can use the extra cable for other situations, but I was specifically looking for this to replace a broken Brookstone Cat Ear headphone cable as Brookstone does NOT sell replacement parts (which is ridiculous in my opinion).
