I bought these to use as under counter lights in the kitchen. I chose this set because of the junction box and the dimmer. The junction box and extension cords made it possible to turn on the light without having to daisy chain them all in a row. The presence of several wires made it possible to hide everything, covering the cabinets on both sides of the stove and sink. The dimmer allows you to adjust the brightness of the light to the rest of the kitchen. Mine is plugged into a switched outlet and switches and dimmers are hidden. I used metal brackets to attach the fasteners. Pre-drill pilot holes for the screws, they are very crappy metal and will break if you try to drive them into wood without pre-drilling them. Also, a manual screwdriver for screws, not a drill. The metal clips are very tight, it's hard to get the light out of them once it snaps into place. I don't know how long they will last. Let me know if they don't work.
