Review on 23.8" Monitor LG 24GN600-B, 1920x1080, 144Hz, IPS, black / red by Stanislaw Dwojak ᠌

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Before buying this monitor, I took two models of the same price category from Samsung and AOC, with which I was very disappointed. The image there was pixelated, the VA-matrix on the video at 144 Hz started to flicker, FreeSync crashed, artifacts appeared when scrolling, glare covered almost the entire screen area. This monitor is devoid of all these shortcomings! I was very pleasantly surprised by the lack of a GLOW effect. The network claims that glare has become the norm for IPS matrices, but this is not so! And this product is proof of that. After competing solutions from other companies that have GLOW on 30-40% of the screen, the LG 24GN600 feels great. I was a little saddened by the uselessness of HDR10, but at this price it should not be here at all. Sometimes I turn it on for horror movies. If you are not satisfied with the stand, you can always take VESA brackets, the prices of which are publicly available. Unfortunately, my smartphone is being repaired, and it was not possible to take good photos. One thing is for sure - after experience with AOC C24G1 and Samsung Odyssey G3, this model looks just fine and fully satisfies all my needs. I think that it is undeservedly deprived of attention. As for the factory marriage, nothing was revealed either upon purchase or after six months of use. There were no new lights. The temperature regime is optimal even when overclocked to 144 Hz. None of the squeaks that were mentioned in the Amazon reviews are heard either by the ear or by the sound level meter. The device comes out of sleep mode briskly, the Windows 10/11 night light works correctly and does not provoke artifacts. Definitely recommend to buy in this price range.

Pros
  • 1. The complete absence of the GLOW effect. 2. Excellent color rendering. 3. Convenient and clear settings that can be easily changed with the joystick button. So convenient that you do not need to install configuration software. 4. Frameless design. 5. Advanced FreeSync Premium settings. 6. Good matte finish that doesn't pixelate. 7. Acceptable response time. It does not stand out among the price category, but at least it does not go into terribly low numbers. 8. Radeon Software detected the monitor as 10-bit. There is a lot of controversy on the net at this point, whether these are real 10 bit or 6 bit + FRC. I can say for sure that, having placed the LG 24GN600 and a premium-category monitor with true 10 bits in the store, I did not notice any difference in all lighting modes. 9. DisplayPort 1.4, as well as working FreeSync Premium via HDMI 144 Hz. 10. 3.5mm output for headphones or speakers with high sound quality.
Cons
  • 1. HDR10 just for show. It practically does not give any advantages in the image, and when turned on it causes the video to blacken for a moment during the transition to full screen mode (perhaps the problem is not the device, but the OS or video card). 2. The stand is really flimsy and not adjustable (the declared slope is practically reduced to zero), but I personally did not consider this a minus for myself. Why? Why do I need steel pins? I put it on the table, the monitor does not sway. The height is comfortable for me.
