🦎 Zoo Med Reptile Rock Food Bowl (colors may vary) Review

I ordered here and I have a real reptile stone from Zoo med but the one I received today was clearly a 3D printed fake. The edges were sharp and had incorrect markings. You can see what I mean in the pictures

You always have to file off the bottom middle production nose or it will wobble, but after that it's all good. Box turtles crawl right in, the ledges holding the food in place without eventually chasing it. Take 2 of these, one for water and a large one for food as I had 2 turtles at a time.

The description says colors may vary but the photo is dark gray so I hoped for the best and took a chance but I ended up with a pink color that looks like guts phew . Would actually have preferred grey, but there's no way to choose. Apart from the color it's good. Angry about the color received.

My turtle likes to swim every day. Although he finds space in it, he cannot move. To do this, I pour in water every day, which flows out through the bottom of the bowl. I don't think I would call it XL! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any small tanks for large turtles and reptiles.

My nile monitor likes this dish much better than the slate stone he used before. For some reason he seems to eat all his food when I use this and he eats it less messy. I suspect it's the rim but who knows as he seems to disagree. I think he just likes new things. The only thing I didn't like was that the sticker was very difficult to remove completely before giving it a new dish. I'm thinking of getting a few other sizes of this bowl for my other reptiles as well.

I wanted to make sure my snake could sit fully in its bowl and not drown. I am convinced that these goals have been achieved with this purchase. It's big enough and flat enough for my needs. BUT I have some concerns. You have to make sure it's level or very close to the scale as at every angle water pools to one side and I've had quite a spill due to misjudgment on my part. Higher walls could have been made to avoid such problems. In addition, it is brown and not as beautiful as in the picture.
