THE perfect cat food for your Persian

This is the best cat food for pure-bred Persians. My handsome boy absolutely loves this cat food. I have been feeding it to him for five years and he has a beautiful coat, never vomits hairballs, and has lots of energy. He refuses to eat anything else now, even wet food. He turns down anything that isn't this dry food. His teeth are incredibly healthy as well and he has never had a weight problem, even though he is strictly indoor. Do yourself a favor and treat your Persian babies to the…

Pros
  • Good is especially made for Persian cats and was recommended by a breeder.
Cons
  • The brand has a history of recalls

Finally a dry food that doesn't make my cat sick.

My Persian was on a 100% wet diet for years but started to become a slow eater. The wet food would end up sitting out for hours before being touched again, and by that time it had gone bad and had to be thrown out. The amount of food and money that was being wasted, as well as the little amount of food my cat was eating, forced me to switch to a dry food. The only problem was that I couldn't find one that didn't make her sick. I tried slowly transitioning her to several premium dry foods…

Pros
  • The only food my persian cat accepted... perfect!
Cons
  • Not suitable for kittens and senior cats

No more messy pants!

I tried Royal Canin on my vet's recommendation. Mocha, my tiny rescue Persian, was plagued with constant diarrhea and she's a finicky eater. I tried a number of the top cat foods--some she refused outright, others she ate but with no improvement. I resorted to shaving her bottom and rear legs to help keep her clean. After gradually switching to the Royal Canin, her stools are firm and well formed. Her energy levels are better; she's more playful and her spunky personality is emerging. Her coat…

Pros
  • No ! It’s good
Cons
  • Not ideal for cats with sensitive stomachs

My Persian’s the most favorite dry cat food

My Persian enjoys most of Royal Canin dry foods, and this one, ROYAL CANIN BREED HEALTH NUTRITION Persian dry cat food, is by far her most favorite. Well, she is Persian and this product was made for Persian, so it makes sense :)Actually, I don’t like the fact that the first ingredient of this cat food, Royal Canin Persian, is Chicken by-product meal (NOT Chicken), followed by chicken fat, brewers rice, brown rice, corn gluten meal.I tried to feed my cat many other brands’ dry cat foods that…

Pros
  • CANCEL ORDER, PLEASE. My cat has just been put on another food by our vet. Thank you!
Cons
  • Has a strong odor that may be unpleasant for some cat owners

Royal Canin Persian cat food

The important thing is that my CAT would give this food five stars! She is not a Persian, so I would never have chosen this food except that a supplier sent me a free sample. Of course we tried "FREE" and found out that our almost fifteen year kitty loves it. She is actually a domestic short hair, but she gets more than the average number of hairballs, so this is probably why the "Persian" feature is good for her. It does seem to be cutting down a bit on the hairballs. The…

Pros
  • My cat loves it and the shape of the kibble is perfect for the exotic cat to grab.
Cons
  • Contains fillers, such as corn and wheat

I took him to the vet who said he had beautiful skin, coat

My persian cat was raised on Royal Canin and when I adopted him at 5 years, I fed him the same Science Diet I was feeding my other cat. Within 6 weeks he started having loose stools and gas. YUCK! I took him to the vet who said he had beautiful skin, coat, and teeth. She commented that he must have been well taken care of by his previous owner and that Royal Canin is an excellent product . I switched him back to Royal Canin and everything is good again.Just a side note, I've fed all my other…

Pros
  • SPECIALIZED KIBBLE: Unique kibble is designed for the shortened jaw of a Persian cat and encourages chewing to help with oral care

Perfect for our Persian.

We have a senior Silver Shaded Chinchilla Persian and she has been eating Royal Canin Persian Dry Cat Food since the day she joined our family as a kitten. The day she joined our family I stopped at the big pet store to pick up a few things for her and just happened to run into the Royal Canin representative. I loved all the benefits of the food for my little one and I wouldn't need to make special trips somewhere to pick it up.Throughout the year we do get her groomed in a lion cut but for the

Pros
  • I feed my Persian cat three different Royal Canin hard foods and her favorite is the Persian Breed.
Cons
  • Does not contain enough protein for active cats

the best food for persian cat

I been feeding my 2 Persian cats with Costco Kirkland Signature dry food for years they always been very happy, and I been brush the cats once a week. than I adopt the 3rd Persian cat she was fed the same food with other 2, but after a few month the 3rd Persian got very greasy hair and had lost weight. I have tried some Persian Shampoo, it worked but greasy hair will come back later (by the way, I found really good cat shampoo.). Since I stared feeding my cats with this "Royal Canin Persian…

Pros
  • Our Persian is really fussy. This is one of few that he consistently eats.
Cons
  • Contains GMO ingredients

My Persian cats love this food.

Some people says that there is nothing true about Royal Canin breed focused food. I dont know about it but my personal experience is different. My Persian cats hair is so beautiful, they have never puked any hair ball, and they enjoy this food. I ve given to them since day one and then change to adult persian. Even the breeder that sold my cat was astonished to see how my kitties look so beautiful.

Pros
  • July 18, 2013
Cons
  • Does not support immune system health

My cat is a picky little moocher

I’ve tried other foods but my cats stupid little mouth is too small and stupid to be able to eat other shapes. He still pukes a lot and I would like to get him on fresh food but he’s addicted to this stuff and only wants his RC

Pros
  • Helps to manage hairballs with added fiber
Cons
  • Not suitable for outdoor cats with higher energy needs

Good buy of preferred food for Burmese cats.

This is the food of choice for Burmese cats. We have bred and continue to love a number of Champion Burmese, "The cats with the golden orbs," and placed a number of them in loving homes. They thrive on Royal Canin Persian food. While Persians are long-haired, Burmese have beautiful short, sable colored hair. Burmese are more energetic, almost dog-like as pets, and can fetch, talk to you, etc. But their nutritional needs are the same as Persialns. When we have tried them on other brands…

Pros
  • Made with easily digestible ingredients for sensitive stomachs
Cons
  • Not ideal for cats with grain allergies

AND WE HAVE A WINNER!

After months of many trials and many errors we have finally found a formula that is working miracles with our mushy faced family member. He had been of Taste of the Wild for the first year or more of his life and then the incessant fur balls began, we tried everything from the hairball gel, to the chewable tablets, we even mixed different formulas of Royal Canin to try to get rid of the fur balls (we ended up with diarrhea instead, too much of a shock maybe) but the Persian Formula is the only…

Pros
  • Uniquely tailored to meet the nutritional needs of adult Persian cats
Cons
  • Contains preservatives that may be harmful to some cats

You get what you pay for.

I'm assuming 5 stars in flavor & smell. My cats love it. They snubbed their previous food during the switch. My persians immidiatly gained weight and became furballs their hair grew so fast. The difference in 2 months was amazing. My shelter adopted mix-cat we had for over a year immidiatly became more calm and started cuddling within a week of getting this food. She stopped puking within a week of switching. Her hair has grown and she is now very soft unlike her normal "dry cat hair feel"…

Pros
  • Cats
Cons
  • May cause hairballs in some cats

The only dry food my cats will eat

I have two Persian cats. Their mouths are small and this food is very easy for them to eat. They are quite enthusiastic about full bowls of it!

Pros
  • My cats like
Cons
  • Not good for overweight cats

Royal Canin Persian . not only for Persians

I have a "mixed bag" of kitties, a Persian, 2 Exotic Shorthair Persians, and the rest are adorable adopted and/or found Muffs (My feline version of Mutts). Since the breeders fed Royal Canin Persian I followed suit, however some cats turn out to be finicky eaters so I bought the 'Savor Selective' ROYAL CANIN FELINE HEALTH NUTRITION SAVOR SELECTIVE dry adult cat food and mix it with the Royal Canin Persian (half and half) and now everyone's happy and eating well.

Pros
  • Cat-dry-food
Cons
  • May cause flatulence in some cats

Great high quality food for my cat with skin sensitivities

My Persian cat is sensitive to certain cat foods and this stuff doesn't make his skin itch like others did. I even tried the Blue brand all protein expensive stuff from PetSmart because of his skin allergies and that ended up giving him major bowel problems and created an anal gland problem. Switched back to this Royal Canin stuff and BOOM problem solved. Solid poop and no more anal gland expressions needed. He still occasionally itches but it's normal and nothing like the…

Wished they would create less fattening product

Its like crack for cats. Not sure yet, but cat did throw up two times w this new bag. So I bought a new bag and put this food in large airtight storage bags to try again. Princess Ki Ki aka Dinkey aka Ellie Mae gives her approval and is probably the pickiest cat alive

Pros
  • Dry
Cons
  • Contains high levels of carbohydrates

Made for persians on my review.

Best food for persians. The only food my cat will eat. She is healthy; her coat is soft, shiny, doesn’t mat easily; she doesn’t have hairballs.

Pros
  • My cat loves the taste of this and begs for more. It's worth the money
Cons
  • The bag has a short shelf life

Three paws up in my review

Much cheaper on Revain than at the store. Both my Himalayans like it, and trust me, they are very finicky. One of them seems to have become more active, which may be attributed to this food. The one thing that concerns me is the low protein percentage. Of course it may be good for a cat with PKD or other kidney issues (although the latest research is beginning to question the benefits of lower protein), but my cats are only 1 1/2 years old. I balance it with a high-protein food, as I want to…

Pros
  • Veterinarian recommended brand
Cons
  • Does not support heart health

Too flat for our cat!

Bought this type because that’s all that was available. All cats we feed seem to CRAVE the taste of Royal Canin dry food! We do not have a Persian so this flat shape was hard for them to eat.

Pros
  • Proudly made in the USA
Cons
  • May cause lethargy in some cats
