First I bought this lid, then my son custom made a sandpit. Holds up well, a bit flimsy but holds up well. I think this will work fine. This will help tighten it with a drawstring.

Ordered this one thought ok it will cost us. Little did I know there was a string attached to that lid to tie it securely to the sandpit so it wouldn't fly off when the storm hits.

Works great in the sandbox I use for my grandkids. It protects against rain. I have to weigh it down at the edges. It's a bit big for this sandbox. It was a good buy.

This case has a nice look and a great concept. However, be careful when it rains. You cannot remove the lid without water getting into the sandbox. Makes a big mess and your sand will be soaked. It could have stayed open.

This cover does the job; However, this creates condensation in the lid, which builds up and causes the sand and wood of the box to become permanently wet. The lid is not placed on the box when it has been watered until it is dry. Not sure how to avoid this to prevent mold or mildew.
