First, the main body of the stand is very strong, the legs and brackets are die-cast aluminum, and the main shaft looks good like T6 extruded aluminum. This stand folds onto the carpet from the sides very easily so make sure you have your feet under something like a sofa or bed, my biggest issue with this stand is the large tablet clamp, I have an iPad there Pro 12, 9 The clip doesn't hold it securely and doesn't work with any of my cases. It is very flat and the gripping surface is on the clamp arms and the rubber is smooth and quite hard when taking the iPad out of the case but only when the tablet is facing up and tilted down and it falls right out, nothing will and the clip is cheap plastic and flexes when pushed out and clipped to something, I wouldn't trust my $1600 iPad Pro to this stand. I'll see if I can find a more secure clamp to use with this one. If you're going to use this on something small like a phone or an ultra-lightweight little tablet, I'm sure it'll be fine, but I wouldn't trust it with anything expensive.
