The beads give a gentle exfoliation. The product does foam up once you begin washing your damp face in circular motions. Once you rinse, you can tell that your skin is cleansed. I have combination skin, but due to the cold weather it gets a bit dry. It leaves my face feeling a little try, but if you follow up with a toner and your moisturizer, then it shouldn't be a problem.
