Overall this is a great cat house! Background: If it's helpful, I have a 10 lb cat that sleeps in it at night as she can wake us up at 4am every morning and my husband has allergies so she can't sleep with us! We put this cat in a shower at home that we don't use. When my cat is not in, I close the glass shower door and drape a decorative curtain over it to hide her from view. We have had this product for about a week now. My cat is my best friend, spirit animal, soul mate and I want her to feel absolutely comfortable and cared for. She is incredibly important to me! Assembly: My husband and I found it easy to assemble, although it did require both of us and some concentration. (Note that we didn't include casters.) Durability: I was confident in its durability when we attached some small black zip ties where the panels connected and other places where needed. (To be honest, without them I wouldn't be sure of the durability.) As for the durability of the purchase, I'm moderately confident that they will last. My cat is only 10 pounds and moves easily so I'm not too worried about her. Otherwise, I would suggest securing it with cable ties. Safety: I read many other reviews before purchasing and noticed that some cat owners had terrible problems with the top corners not meeting and the cat's paws/fingers getting stuck and hurting themselves. bad. To my delight, I was able to secure these areas with zip ties and my cat isn't much of a climber. the level I used before. I think cats need space and choices about where they can be and the ability to keep some distance between them and their litter box or food. My cat is much, much happier with it! I was also able to put a small Boodah Dome litter box (Petmate Booda Dome Litter Box, gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002DH8JG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_milizb8VQWQYM) on the floor, which made me happier than litter. We're talking spills and dust. Plush Roost Covers: I ended up ordering two extra ones on top of the one that comes with the cat house. Haven't tried washing them yet but they seem nice and thick and soft and have velcro attached to the perch to keep them in place. My cat loves them! In my humble opinion they seemed a bit pricey but I paid to do something for this cat house. Meaning. One more tip, this cat house is big and heavy and I would really think twice before ordering if this is right for you as it will be expensive to return and difficult to repack! Overall, with some sort of zip tie support, I'm really happy with this product. I gave it four to five stars because I don't feel like it gets dirty on its own without the zip ties.
