The doctor told me that I should wear compression stockings due to foot surgery. He did not specify the compression force. I first bought Truform 20-30 compression stockings. I used the Truform size chart. I couldn't put socks on. I changed the compression to 15-20 and kept the size XL and now I can wear it. They're still a small task, but if they weren't, they wouldn't be doing their job. A little powder on the foot also helps. I'm 5ft 11" and still have to roll up the tops as they are above the knee. Comfortable to wear all day. I would buy them again.
