Review on πŸŽ’ The North Face Surge Backpack: Elite Performance and Unmatched Durability by Don Santos

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Tough, roomy and durable

What I love most about this bag (and Northside in general) is its sturdy quality and bold look. The materials feel much more durable and comfortable than the light and scratchy Osprey material. However, in my opinion, the north side should never have changed the front admin/org panel. In the past, this bag reached all the way down and offered a lot of space. However, that plate now ends up halfway to the front of the bag, at least in Surge and Recon, resulting in a lack of space. There are two easy-access pockets on the front underside that used to reach the admin panel, but they make the pocket bulge when filled with gear, creating an odd-looking barrel-shaped belly. I would recommend TNF bringing back a full size admin panel - that would be the perfect bag.

Pros
  • SURGE CLASSIC. The 28 liter Surge backpack offers more than enough space for your daily office routine. It also has a sleek, technical design and is approved by the American Chiropractic Association.
Cons
  • Crumpled
