IMHO the best EDC pack for those who carry electronics.

After a very long search for a backpack that would meet my needs for carrying a laptop and other everyday essentials, with more organization than just a few pockets, the TNF Surge came out on top. Having been using this backpack for over a week now I am very impressed with its comfort and fit. When I first got it, the backpack felt a lot flatter, but it will definitely be more comfortable to carry, not that it's uncomfortable. First. It has more than enough organizational sleeves, all…

Pros
  • GENERAL ORGANIZATION. This backpack features a large main compartment for books and folders, a protective padded laptop sleeve and a shelf to keep internal items secure. Also includes an external zip pocket and two stretch mesh side pockets.
Cons

Overall a great backpack but very uncomfortable when fully loaded.

I did a lot of research to choose a backpack for carry-on only travel. After testing many bags I settled on the TNF Surge as it had all the features I needed, great organization and the perfect size. Overall it was an incredible bag, it fit under the seat in front of me, it had a compartment for tech gear and separate areas for laptop and tablet. However, there was one fatal flaw that became apparent after just a few days of use: ***It was very uncomfortable*** The shoulder straps cut into my…

Stay organized on the go

This bag is a great organizer for anyone who wants to take a lot with them when they are out and about. Pockets for almost everything you can think of. The laptop compartment is very well protected. It actually keeps the laptop a few inches off the bottom of the bag, so the laptop is protected even when it's on the floor. It also has a dedicated tablet case. The main compartment is extra large to carry any books or folders you need. External pockets are ideal for easy access to items you need…

Pros
  • FLEX VENT TECHNOLOGY. Certified by the American Chiropractic Association, the FlexVent harness features a custom injection molded flexible yoke and shoulder straps, a padded mesh back panel, and a lumbar panel for ventilated support.

Tough, roomy and durable

What I love most about this bag (and Northside in general) is its sturdy quality and bold look. The materials feel much more durable and comfortable than the light and scratchy Osprey material. However, in my opinion, the north side should never have changed the front admin/org panel. In the past, this bag reached all the way down and offered a lot of space. However, that plate now ends up halfway to the front of the bag, at least in Surge and Recon, resulting in a lack of space. There are two…

Pros
  • SURGE CLASSIC. The 28 liter Surge backpack offers more than enough space for your daily office routine. It also has a sleek, technical design and is approved by the American Chiropractic Association.
Cons
  • Crumpled

I have a Surface Pro (in a case), an iPad, an umbrella, a book, a light switch (in a case), a small toothbrush/floss/paste, pens, USB cable, backup battery, USB charger and a few other miscellaneous items in this bag I could probably add my work laptop and a change of clothes and it still has room for lunch! It's VERY big which is great.I take it with me when I take the train from the suburbs to downtown Chicago,it doesn't bother,it has two straps,as well as a top handle and a front carry handle

Downgraded NF "Surge "

I ordered this bag because the "Splash" I've had for a number of years is a bit frayed around the edges. Since it will be used for my mobile office and will be scrutinized by the public, as well as serving as an everyday backpack, I figured the new one would look a little better. I was disappointed to find that NF had changed the pocket attached to the laptop bag to add a mesh to it. This reduces its capacity and eliminates its use for carrying a legal-sized briefcase, which fits comfortably in

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE TO WEAR. Whether it's for school, commuting, or traveling, this backpack features a top handle for easy grip and a detachable waist strap for a custom fit. Chest strap with whistle buckle for extra support and security. Reflective details help you stand out.
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Least functional backpack. Who designed it?

The worst backpack for the most money. Terrible utility, pocket placement and more. The person who designed the bags and the way they are carried on the back obviously never used them. Things keep falling out of your pockets and you end up losing your belongings. Never stands up even when full. Pockets in the strangest places. The backpack seems heavy even when there is nothing in it. Additionally, this is one of the more expensive backpacks on the north side and you would think you were…
