I was skeptical about buying an item that 'claims' better performance and fuel economy, but I was wrong. I recently picked up my 2004 Chevy Silverado 4x4 and put 33" tires on it and lost about 1.5mpg. After installing a cold air intake I got that 1.5mpg back! on gas, but otherwise it sounds the same. When comparing an aluminum tube with a plastic tube, I could not find a single advantage. I went with aluminum tubing due to extreme temperature swings and thought it would hold up better than plastic. It also added a little bit to the look under the hood! Very easy to install! I would add that if you're in with K&N Need to connect question, their tech support is very fast and knowledgeable!
