My leg measurements came out a "Medium" on the Copper type here, whereas my measurements scored me a "Large" in the Neenca gel patella "Pro Knee Brace". Both are an acceptable fit. I DO wear these over thin, lycra type hiking pants, so these never go straight over bare skin.PRO: To compare the two (I like both), this Copper one is a bit less heavy and I think it needs adjusting less often (my problem is slippage downward). I have no idea if this is part of the reason for the ever-so-slightly better fit, but the Copper one here has about half an inch more length below the patella.Con: I find that I have a sensation of wrinkling and binding/accordian-ing behind the knee while hiking with this Copper one on. My Neenca does not have that feeling. The backsides are slightly different in weave pattern. This is not terribly annoying, but I never ever notice that sensation with the Neenca.CON: The boning along the side (stablizers) are stronger on the Neenca than on the Copper. I suspect that the Copper might give out sooner, based on the boning being less firm, but I have worn the Neenca about 40 times and the Copper only about 6 times; more road testing required. To give you an idea of my legs, should you compare closely to yours, they are not overweight or overlong for my height (5' 5"). My legs are not flabby but certainly not ripped (typical female fat covers the thigh muscle). I hike twice a week, on strenuous trails, a minimum of 6 km to max of 28 km per week, much of this is stairs, uphill as well as down. I would not be able to do this without the knee pads, and both of these brands (so far) give me such good support, I feel no pain while walking in these. (without them, yes, I would fatigue and have pain after only a few km).Just a note: I have no idea if I will actually derive any benefit from the copper threads, since my skin does not come into contact with the fabric (those hiking pants are in between).PRO: these are snug, soft and comfortable, really support my knees so that I can enjoy the scenery and exercise. Miles ahead of over-the-counter neoprene knee braces. Forget those. These work.
