Review on 🎨 Faber-Castell Comic Illustration Set - The Famazings Superhero Comic Book Drawing Kit with Pitt Artist Pens & Goldfaber Coloring Pencils: Unleash Your Creative Superpowers! by Cheryl Fisher

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The book is almost useless, the quality of the tools varies from mediocre to excellent

This is touted as a complete approach to learning how to draw comics, from initial sketches to book covers and panel layout. The information in the book is very sparse, it can only be described as a "quick start" - absolutely not enough to learn how to draw comics. Many tools are included for student work. Only Pitt fineliner pens are of superior artistic quality. Colored pencils are not bad - soft and quite pigmented, well shaded. The mechanical pencil has a 0.5 lead, preloaded with regular graphite lead, not photo blue. However, blue crayon leads are included. It has a fancy feed mechanism and is made in China. I often use 0.5 mechanical pencils and the lead on this pencil was more prone to breakage than usual. The HB grade plain graphite pencil with wooden body is Faber-Castell's budget line, and it shows. This is not the artistic quality of the Faber-Castell 9000 series. The graphite is scratchy and did not write smoothly or evenly. The set includes an eraser and sharpener and they are adequate but nothing special. Thus, the word "reasonable" can be used to describe the entire package. Sufficient, nothing more.
