Review on 📞 Enhanced Communication: Polycom Soundstation 2W with Extension Mics by Cathy Khan

Bought for the board of directors conference room and it worked great on the phone! Just a note that it's not obvious how to turn off the ringer and why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. We didn't even think to turn off the bell until the phone rang in the middle of the meeting! Instead of using the intuitive design to set the ringer volume to 0 or off on the front panel, there's a hidden selection in the ringer type menu that appears to let you turn it off (untested yet). I only discovered this after searching the manual and found the FAQ item "Doesn't ring" on page 27 of the 43-page manual, which directs you to another page that just talks about setting the ringtone type like " Classic” without naming anyone hired. There you turn off the call. Controversial industrial design coupled with hidden and indirect references in the manual belies Polycom's reputation for quality. It seems that the intention of turning off the conference room phone's ringer (to prevent it from ringing during a meeting, for example) isn't as obvious to designers as I think it should be.
