Great product, easy setup and it works.

My old SWANNE NVR died. I tried getting a replacement PSU, but $120 and a month's wait seemed a bit crazy. I read the reviews about it and they seemed more positive than negative. I suspect if you're buying a full Armcrest kit it probably won't be any easier to set up. I was using my SWANN POE cameras and they were a bit of an issue as they were configured with static IP addresses. If you find yourself in the same situation, there are a few things you need to do to make this work. You need to connect the camera to a POE injector or POE switch. Get a Mac or PC with Swan or Hikvision camera detection software. After detection, you need to connect to the camera and switch to DHCP. This will restart the camera and you can connect to the Armcrest DVR. It didn't automatically detect the cameras with its assistant, but when I added them manually it found them. Several attempts made to add a clasp. We go back and try again and then the image appears. I will say the app and how easy it is to set up is insane. I've had my SWANN for years and couldn't get it to work outside of my network no matter what I did. I didn't like the app either. Armcrest works largely on a plug-and-play basis. I can see my cameras when I'm not at home and doing absolutely nothing. Brilliant! I haven't played with the settings yet, but I'm very happy. Just wondering if I should get 8 channels to be able to add more cameras in the future. It's also silent when using an external power supply. My SWANNE had a PC power supply with such a loud fan. Overall very happy with this purchase.
