Didn't work fully for SATA cable

Tried with two different computers but no luck and a half - I believe the SATA &lt;-&gt; USB -Cable/adapter defect. I used an MSATA drive in the card with the cable that came with it and it didn't work (I tried two different PCs). I tried the card with another adapter cable I had from another device and it worked fine.
