Didn't work fully - computers and accessories

Tried this with 2 different computers but no luck with half of them them - I think the SATA cable/adapter < -> USB is defective. I used an MSATA drive in the card with the cable that came with it and it didn't work (I tried two different PCs). I tried the card with another adapter cable I had from another device and it worked fine.

Pros
  • Jumper switch design, was able to easily set the switch to Installed SSD mode
Cons
  • I will add later

Worked, just had to fiddle with switches and connect

Did what I needed but I struggled a little. Too bad there was no document with it. Finally played around with one of the switches and it worked.

Pros
  • Adapter works ONLY for B key or B/M key female M.2 NGFF SSD, does not support M key female
Cons
  • Legacy model

Limited use but sometimes necessary.

If you need to recover data from different laptops, this is a good tool to have in your package. The SATA to USB3 cable is useful on its own.

Pros
  • Adapter supports full size mSATA SSD; Support for M.2 SATA SSD (2230 2242 2260 2280) with B+M key; supports high speed SATA3/6Gb/s storage interface
Cons
  • No paint required

Working adapter: computer accessories and peripherals

The adapter worked as advertised to retrieve data from a failed mSATA drive. It's a shame it only takes 1 USB port, but you don't use this form factor for an external drive that you use every day.

Pros
  • hot-swappable, plug and play, no driver required. Compatible with Windows XP/7/10 and MAC OS
Cons
  • Weak hardware
