Almost Perfect Ready to Use

These lights were pretty easy to install and look great. I feel more confident buying a big brand and the price was still very reasonable. I installed a direct connect kit and a lead wire kit and both worked fine. The small box contains individual strips (one with a plastic cap on the end so you know it's the last in the chain), 2 mounting brackets with 1 screw per strip, power box with 2 mounting screws, wall to brick power cables, a set of 18 -inch cables that can optionally be used to connect the strips if you don't want a continuous row of directly connected strips and instruction sheets in English and Spanish. The instructions are clear enough even though I read them twice. They connect to a non-existent drilling template; I spread the mounting brackets just a few inches from the end of each strip. If you don't screw the staples all the way in, they can twist to line up with the strip. The 1/16" drill bit recommendation was perfect for the included #4 screws, and the screws were short enough that I didn't have to worry about going all the way through my closet floors. However, no extra screws are included and I cut the head off one that went into the branch of the tree. I have a good supply of screws, but I didn't have any of those tiny #4 pan heads, so I ended up nailing a bracket. 1 or 2 extra screws would be a nice addition to the set. Another nice addition to the kit would be some wire clips to keep loose wires in place. I ended up with a pair that matched the main power wire, but I just used tape to attach the small connecting wires to the bottom of the cabinets. Let's see how well they stay.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging
