I used this tool to embed very large Baldwin locks in our 2.5 inch thick front doors. The three downsides I have with the tool are that the springs left an imprint on the front of our door's latch, the width setting is not enough to cut into the latches on wide door frames, and the tool's installation often takes so much time...how much does it cost just to use a chisel and a hammer. Bottom line, I still recommend this tool, especially when picking large locks or old lock sets. I thought I bought an offset tool but couldn't use it due to width limitations. with a chisel than the time it would take me to use this tool.
