Review on BaoFeng UV-5R Walkie Talkie Speaker Mic: Shoulder Microphone with Clear Sound Quality - 2 Pack by Michael Boyle

These are 2 packs and both had the same problem. While they appeared to work right out of the box, they didn't work when using the included headphone jack. It's like you've never plugged in a headset/speaker. The speaker continued to work, but the listener was dead. It should be like that when you plug it in, it mutes the speaker and redirects the sound to the speaker. Anyway, I took one apart and found the ear jack wasn't plugged in and the sound just went straight to the speaker. There was no reason for that, so I plugged the green wire into the right port and then everything worked. Simple solution but too complicated for the manufacturer to test and fix in my opinion.
