They're small but untangle tangles without undue pain. I bought these to keep in our swim bags and for my girls to pack for the trip so they don't have to bring a full size brush. Recently I was trying to pack for a trip and decided to grab one of these little brushes for myself. Although tiny, it did a great job with my thick blonde hair. One of my daughters has curly hair and the other has very long straight hair. All three of us prefer these to many of the other brushes we have. We have used them on both wet and dry hair. Now I plan to buy a larger version.
