This is a good $15 tripod, you can't have high expectations. The build quality is good and if I accidentally dropped it it would probably be fine. Some parts of the top group head will dangle in the open position, but this doesn't affect panning during operation. The height adjustment is more than sufficient for my needs. With a choice of horizontal and vertical angles, it makes a great tote bag. -Remote control. I don't use it - very lightly. For or against, depending on your preference. Pro for travel, minus for stability. I mainly use it for my cell phone and am very happy with it. If I don't need premium premium build quality, I think this tripod has everything I need.
