Poor quality of materials, poor fit, doesn't offer much support.

I've been wearing this brace for a few months now. I wanted to make sure I know how well it works before considering it. I bought it after an ankle sprain. Delivery was delayed due to the pandemic, which is perfectly normal, but it meant I had to find one locally to use while waiting for this brace to arrive. That gave me a good comparison. I wear a size 11.5 (US) which is not shown in the size chart here on Revain. The listing didn't say if the sizes were small or large and I really needed braces so I ordered 11 and 12. 11 is barely enough and 12 is too big. I went for a size 11. The support straps attach near the ankle arches (which I think are called ankles), wrap around the forefoot and go down the same side of the foot to secure with Velcro. . The brace I bought locally worked the same, but the straps were attached much lower at the ankle, almost under the foot. As a result, the brace I bought locally provided much better support, while the Active Ankle brace barely fits. It might have been less of an issue if the braces were available in the right size, but I'm a little skeptical. The Active Ankle Brace is slightly more comfortable than the more supportive brace, so the Active Ankle Brace may be appropriate for lighter sprains. , and can be a good backup, except that the quality of the materials is not very good. I've only used the active ankle a couple of times - maybe 8 or 10 days total - but the velcro loop is already starting to fall apart. It's all fuzzy and I don't expect it to last more than 8 or 10 more uses before it completely fails. I have a pretty bad sprain so lack of support may not be an issue for minor sprains or to avoid injury. If it weren't for the poor quality of the velcro I would recommend it as a replacement but from the looks of it I doubt it would be of much use.
