The size is inaccurate
The table shows 36"-38" as XXL. I'm 37 inches tall and they were just too big at the waist and looked ridiculously pulled in when tightened enough to stay in the right position. The way they are made is not a good way to tighten or loosen them. but the design does not allow flexible size up/down the waist.
