This tilt head is perfect for my current photography mode. I am a hobbyist interested in bird photography with several years of experience, so please treat my review accordingly. After purchasing and using my current Sigma 150-600 lens for the first time, I realized that some form of stabilization would help me capture sharper images. I have a decent tripod and a "budget" CF gimbal, but one of my favorite things to photograph is hummingbirds in flight, and setting up a tripod and gimbal just can't handle my need to move and stay fluid. After spending some time reading reviews and blogs, I decided to try the DMH-2/DAC-X1 head combo and it just works. I read all the reviews, maybe more than most. This purchase works for my purposes and holds my Canon 7dmk2 + Sigma 150-600 firmly in place wherever I tilt it. -600 because so many of the reviews I've read were from people claiming they could hold the lens upright forever without fatigue etc. For me I found that free holding didn't give me the number of " preservers" there that I should have had . With my monopod and tilt head, I get more sharpness and more usable photos. My setup is at or below my eye level. I can quickly maneuver sideways and have found myself using the tilt feature more often than I initially thought. I recommend this tilt head because it is a high quality device that has become a staple of my kit.
